LAUGH OR YOU'LL CRY SKETCHSHOW

SKETCH SHOW ROLES While we have been off in lockdown, we have worked closely with the Film & TV classes on a lockdown sketch show, which is uploaded in 4 different episodes. I appear in episodes 2-4, as the first time Karly and I tried to film with Adrian we endured many technical difficulties and had to refilm a week later.  EPISODE 2 - CECILIA  For this episode I did a sketch alongside Karly, which was written and directed by Adrian Everest. As I previously mentioned, this was supposed to air in the first episode but we had quite a few issues with recording so we moved it to Ep2. My role in this was a snobby, rich woman who didn't believe in Corona Virus, and complained about how it affected her luxury life. She is very obnoxious and uptight, and doesn't seem to care about the masses that are genuinely affected by the virus. I found this role fun to play as it the opposite of me and the exact type of person I dislike, so it was weird and funny to step in their sho...

THEATRE PRACTITIONER - STANISLAVSKI

Stanislavski is a very well known theatre practitioner; he directed a variety of productions which led him to be so familiar. He was broadly recognised as an outstanding character actor. His work has been very influential over the years, and people still consistently practise his techniques today.  "The language of the body is the key that can unlock the soul" BACKGROUND OF STANISLAVSKI Stanislavski was born as Konstantin Sergeyevich Alexeyev. He was born on January 17th 1863, into one of the most affluent families in Russia. His family were all fans of theatre, and he was able to get into amateur theatricals when he was just a boy. He adopted his stage name as Stanislavski later on in his life, during 1884, as he was concealing his own theatrical work from his family. However, when he gained his fathers approval in 1887, he became a well known and established figure. He passed away at the age of 75, in 1938. WHAT STANISLAVSKI DID Stanislavski was the founder of the Mos...

UNIT 2 - ENGAGING WITH AN AUDIENCE

This term has been extremely busy and productive, jam packed with lots of projects for everybody. That being said, in this assignment I will be recapping many tasks we covered and evaluating projects. This term was solid and very pivotal for our class.    TASK ONE - MY JOURNEY THROUGH THIS / PRODUCTION DIARY WEEK ONE Throughout this term I will be regularly updating a production diary to recap the lessons and projects that we will be doing until Christmas. On Monday we worked on a range of things with Sara: clarity, projection, variety in pitch and tone. After Sara worked on these tools with us, we applied them to our monologues which were previously assigned. This lesson was extremely helpful as it gave me tips on how to improve my monologues and performances for the future. Continuing on Monday, we also had our first dress rehearsal for panto. There was a few blips with the costumes as Kelly thought they didn't quite fit our characters right but in the end we got sorted and ...
